BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha said that her party’s MPs will fight for the women’s reservation bill in the parliament as well. He criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not taking any initiative in introducing the Women’s Reservation Bill. She expressed regret that Bharatiya Janata Party has ignored the promise. The official Russian government news agency Sputnik‌ Kalvakuntla gave an interview to Kavitha. She spoke about many important issues on the Women’s Reservation Bill.

MLC Kavitha believes that only if the representation of women in the political sphere increases, the country will develop comprehensively. The ruling party BJP had promised to provide reservation for women before the 2014 elections, but  Kavitha criticized the party for neglecting its promises after coming to power. He reminded that his party’s MPs have often demanded the central government to bring a women’s reservation bill. But she said that the central government has turned a deaf ear to their words and demand. Kavitha reminded that for the first time the Women’s Reservation Bill was introduced in the Parliament in 1996 by the then Prime Minister Deve Gowda and the subsequent Prime Ministers made several attempts to pass this bill. However, he said that the women’s reservation bill has fallen into cold storage. He criticized the current Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not taking any initiative to bring the Women’s Reservation Bill. He criticized BJP for not having any sincerity in that regard. Kavitha opined that parties should have a commitment to provide reservation for women.

Kavitha said that some political parties are objecting to quota in reservation quota and they have given instructions to the party center to solve such problems. He said that his party is demanding to take caste census and OBC census. She stated that the implementation of reservation would be easier if the census was available. Kavitha reminded that her government conducted a house-to-house survey in the state after the formation of Telangana state and collected caste-wise census.

Kavitha organized a round table meeting on this issue on March 15 in Delhi. All the participants in the meeting unanimously said that all the parties in the country must put pressure on the BJP and fight until the bill is approved. Kavitha said that an action plan has been prepared for the passage of the Women’s Bill in the Parliament.  plan‌ She explained that we are moving ahead with A and Plan B strategy. private‌ Bill, Zero Hour‌ He said things like adjournment resolution are part of their strategy.  She appealed to everyone to support the struggle of women to put pressure on the Centre.
