iPhone 14: iPhone 14’s ‘Emergency SOS Via Satellite’ feature won’t work in India, know why

iPhone 14: Apple launched 4 iPhones including the iPhone 14 at the Far Out event on September 7. The company had announced the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. During the event, Apple had announced two special features in these iPhones – ‘Crash Detection’ and ‘Emergency SOS Via Satellite’. Apple expects that you won’t have to use these features, but both can be helpful if needed.

Why Emergency SOS via Satellite is not available in India

To launch ‘Emergency SOS Via Satellite’ in India, Apple needs to partner with a satellite communication (SATCOM) service provider in the country. Telecom operators need to tie up with Satcom, such as T-Mobile in the US partnered with SpaceX. Therefore, at present, no one can use the ‘Emergency SOS via Satellite’ facility in India. But maybe in the coming time we will get this facility in India.

In which countries the ‘Emergency SOS via Satellite’ feature will not work

Apple says ‘Emergency SOS via Satellite’ will not work on iPhone 14 models purchased in China, Hong Kong or Macao. Although India is not in this list, this feature will be available on iPhone 14 models purchased in the country, but Apple users will not be able to use ‘Emergency SOS via Satellite’ because the company providing satellite service to any mobile company in the country for the feature
