5G internet is failing broadband connections, the average mobile download speed of the country is now this much

Average Mobile Download Speed: Earlier, if someone used to say that he was getting more speed on mobile than broadband, then no one would believe it. But this is possible after the arrival of 5G. Many users on social media have shared screenshots of upload and download speeds using 5G network. Meanwhile, according to a report by Business Standard, 5G has started competing with broadband connections in terms of internet speed and the average download speed of both is around the same in India. According to Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index, the average download speed on mobile in August was 50.21 Mbps, which was a few points behind the average speed of mobile broadband connections of 54.17 Mbps.

5G network will cause broadband connection failure

According to the report of Business Standard, telecom companies say that in the coming time, 5G network will fail the broadband connection which is currently on 3,60,000 towers, this number is going to increase to 4 lakh soon. At present only 2 telecom operators are providing 5G network in the country. This includes Jio and Airtel. Both have covered almost most of the cities of the country with 5G network.

Before the rollout of 5G, there was a difference of more than 3 times in the speed of mobile and broadband connections in the country in October last year. The speed on broadband connection was 48.19 Mbps whereas on mobile it was only 16.50 Mbps. Last year, India was ranked 113th in terms of mobile speed in Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index, which has now come down to number 47. At the same time, in terms of broadband connection, India was at 79th position last year, which has now moved to 86th position. This has happened because the broadband speed has increased by only 12 Mbps compared to last year.

India’s average mobile download speed is higher than the world’s average speed

One good thing is that India’s average mobile download speed is higher than the average download speed around the world. The global average is 43.20 Mbps while India’s average speed is 50.21 Mbps. At the same time, in terms of broadband speed, India’s average speed is less than the average speed across the world because there has been a slight increase in it.
