Satara Crime: Thieves’ plan to break ATM with gelatin blast in Karad foiled by police vigilance

Satara Crieme : In Karad, an attempt by thieves to blow up a Bank of India ATM in a roadside building at Gajanan Housing Society with gelatin was thwarted by police vigilance. 

Bank of India ATM was robbed at midnight. But the police immediately reached the spot and managed to arrest one thief, while three escaped. This time there was a scuffle between the thieves and the police. In the same clash, some policemen were injured when one of them sprayed pepper spray in the eyes of the policemen. Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Bansal said that the injured were admitted to Krishna Hospital. 

Though there is no official information from the police regarding the use of gelatin, it is clear that there was a conspiracy to blow up the ATM machine, considering the circumstances including the suspicious wire outside the ATM, the detonator stuck inside the ATM machine. The police have started investigating the matter very seriously. 

Meanwhile, one person also arrested is from Pune and one is a local, the remaining two are from other districts. This morning the bomb detection and disposal team blasted the gelatin kept in the ATM center. A large police contingent was deployed at this time. Meanwhile, the ATM machine has been damaged and the amount inside has been lost.
