Bettiah: In Narkatiaganj of the district, a bus full of wedding processions overturned on Friday morning, in which 13 people were injured. The condition of four of the injured is said to be serious. All the injured have been admitted to Narkatiaganj Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment. All the injured are undergoing treatment. After this incident, there has been an atmosphere of chaos in the area. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. Whereas, the bus driver fled from the spot.
‘The driver was drunk’
In relation to the accident, it is being told that all the baraatis were going back to Bhitiharwa from Bettiah. During this, the bus overturned near Hardiya Mai Sthan. It is being told that there was a fire in this incident. According to the information received, the procession from the house of Shatrughan Ram of Bhitiharwa village had gone to the house of Lalan Ram of Bettiah Cantonment and this incident happened while returning in the morning. Regarding this incident, people in the bus told that the bus driver was driving the bus after drinking alcohol and marijuana, due to which this accident happened.
Baratis were evacuated with the help of local people
The injured youth said that the procession from Bhitiharwa had gone to Bettiah Cantonment and while returning in the morning, the bus overturned near Hardi Teda Mai place in which 13 people were injured and the bus caught fire. The fire was extinguished with the help of the local people, due to which a major accident was averted. At the same time, with the help of the local people, the baraatis trapped in the bus were taken out by breaking the glass of the bus. More than a dozen people have been injured in this incident. All are said to be residents of Marli Bharwa village of Bhitiharwa. However, the bus driver fled leaving the bus behind.
