Purnagiri Dham Mela: The famous Mata Purnagiri Dham fair has started in Tanakpur, Uttarakhand. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Purnagiri Dham fair by duly offering prayers. During this, MP Ajay Tamta was also present there. On this occasion, CM Dhami said, ‘It is my good fortune that I have got the opportunity to inaugurate the fair as a chief servant. Lakhs of devotees have faith in Mata Purnagiri, considering this we have to take full care of the facilities of all the devotees coming.’
CM Dhami said, ‘We want Champawat district to develop as a model, to promote religious tourism in the state, development of all the deity places is necessary and our government is constantly working on it.’ Regarding the installation of ropeway in Purnagiri Dham in future, CM said that we will develop Sharda Ghat on the lines of ‘Har Ki Pauri’ of Haridwar. Along with this, many schemes are being brought to solve the problem of water logging in the rainy season. Let us inform that Mata Purnagiri Dham is considered as Shakti Peeth, the navel place of Mata Sati. Every year lakhs of devotees of Indian and Nepali origin come to visit the mother in the fair held in Dham. After the Corona period, more than 35 lakh devotees visited Mata Purnagiri in 2022.
The fair area has been divided into 6 zones
The district administration is working hard to make this famous fair of the state, which is organized in the assembly constituency of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, a success. Police force has been made available for security in the government fair which lasts for about three months. Police force has also been made available from nearby districts. The fair area is divided into six zones. A sector magistrate has been appointed for each zone. A total of six sector magistrates have been appointed who will conduct the fair taking care of the facilities and arrangements made available to the pilgrims coming to the fair.
