Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema has emphasized on increasing the income of farmers in the budget. He said that while taking steps in this direction, the government will emphasize on increasing the income of farmers in the current financial year and will implement a new agriculture policy. The government will soon come up with a new agriculture policy. For this, a committee of experts has been formed. In Punjab, a budget of 13, 888 crores has been announced for the welfare of agriculture and farmers, which is 20 percent more than last year. In the budget, financial assistance of 25 crores was issued to 30,312 farmers for direct sowing of paddy. The Finance Minister said that along with agriculture, the focus will be on increasing the income of farmers and laborers by promoting allied businesses.
Education budget also increased
Punjab government has proposed Rs 17,072 crore for school and higher education in this budget, which is 12 percent compared to the previous year. Is too much. In the same financial year 2023-24, a budget arrangement of Rs 1015 crore has been announced for medical education and research.
