Police attack actor Karthi’s fans … Commission orders action!

Thoothukudi Central Police Station Chief Constable Thiraviyarathinaraj has demanded a bribe from Thoothukudi Karthi fan club chairman Venkatesh and executives Venkatagodi and Seenivas for pasting a poster related to the release of ‘Doha’ starring actor Karthi.

The three who refused to do so were taken to the police station, where they were beaten and severely beaten by police inspector Suresh Kumar, assistant inspector Ravi Kumar and chief constable Thiraviya Rathinaraj.

Gavaskar, Venkatesh’s brother’s lawyer, had lodged a complaint with the Tamil Nadu State Human Rights Commission in connection with the March 25, 2016 incident.

Human Rights Commission member Durai Jayachandran, who heard the case, ordered the Tamil Nadu government to pay Rs 5 lakh to the victim Venkata Kodi and Rs 50,000 each to Seenivas and Venkatesh, claiming that the three policemen had been found guilty of human rights abuses based on evidence and evidence.

The commission has ordered the three policemen to pay Rs 2 lakh each and recommended criminal and departmental action against the police.
