Nandyal District: Name the district Uyyalawada .. Pill filed in AP High Court ..

AP New districts .. Controversy continues over new names. The new Nandyal district was formed with some land in the old Kurnool district as part of the reorganization of districts in Andhra Pradesh. But now there is a demand to rename the district instead of Nandyala. The demand started naming the first Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy who was born in the same district. However, a petition was recently filed in the High Court against naming Nandyala district as Uyyalawada. Kethireddy Jagadeeshwarreddy, Founder President of Telugu Yuvashakthi, filed the petition in the High Court. With this, the discussion on the names of the district started once again. The first Telugu freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy was born in Nandyala district. That is why he appealed to Nandyala district to be named after him.

The petitioner stated that the hero who opposed the British in Rayalaseema was Uyyalawada. Petitioner Kethireddy Jagadeeshwara Reddy demanded that the district be named in recognition of him as the first hero who fought for independence. The petitioner named the Secretaries of CS, Revenue and Planning Departments as respondents. Gundala Sivaprasad Reddy and Devi Sathyasree will be appearing for the petitioner.
