MP Elections 2023: Shivraj government’s new bet before elections, state budget will be discussed in gram sabhas!

MP Politics: The budget of Madhya Pradesh government has arrived, the government is excited by the Economic Survey that came before this budget. At the same time, promises have been made by the government to make provisions to improve the lives of every class in the budget. While the process of dialogue has started with the people belonging to different sections on this budget, the government is planning to discuss this budget in the Gram Sabhas as well.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Good Governance and Policy Analysis Institute and Madhya Pradesh State Policy as well as in the first program of the dialogue series at Kushabhau Thackeray Auditorium, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that generally the state budget and economic Surveys are considered the subject of economists and experts.

‘The budget should also be discussed in the gram sabhas’

The Chief Minister said that from last year we started including the suggestions of the public in making the state budget. More than four thousand suggestions were received this year, most of which have been included in the state budget. Now, with the aim of implementing the budget with public participation, a public dialogue has been held on the economic survey and the budget. I want the budget to be discussed in the gram sabhas as well.

‘Government takes loan as per norms’

Chief Minister Chouhan said that allegations are leveled against the state government regarding taking loans. The reality is that the loan was taken as per the criteria for taking loan from the state government. The debt to GDP ratio stood at 22.6 per cent in the year 2020-21, as against 39.5 per cent in the year 2005. The capital expenditure of the state has increased by 23.18 percent to Rs 45 thousand 685 crore, which is the highest in the history of Madhya Pradesh.

He said that the agriculture growth rate of the state has increased to 19 percent. Irrigation capacity has also increased phenomenally, which has increased from 7 lakh 50 thousand hectare to 45 lakh hectare. Our target is to achieve irrigation potential in 65 lakh hectare area. We are committed to industrial development.
