Liquor ban in 5 villages due to voting in Rajsamand district, villagers submitted memorandum to collector for sixth Gram Panchayat

Rajasthan News: All over the country, from the ward to the Lok Sabha elections, there is a voting process in which we elect our people’s representative, but have you ever heard that there is a voting process for Prohibition. This is happening in Rajsamand district of Rajasthan. Here five gram panchayats have been made liquor free by the people through voting and now its light has gone ahead and reached the sixth panchayat. Here the people of that Gram Panchayat gathered and submitted a memorandum to the Collector in which a demand has been made to ban liquor in the Gram Panchayat. In fact, this morning many women and men gathered with them at Rajsamand Collectorate. He had a memorandum in his hand and anger on his face. All of them had come from Pasund panchayat near Rajsamand city and their demand was that liquor should be banned in the panchayat. 

Sarpanch Ayan Joshi told that all the gram panchayat residents handed over the memorandum to Collector Nilabh Saxena. A demand has been made in the memorandum that a campaign has been launched in the Gram Panchayat regarding liquor ban. Here people are ruining themselves and their families due to alcohol addiction. A contract is allotted by the Excise Department, but liquor is sold by the contractor at other places including grocery stores. Their demand is that contracts should not be allotted in Gram Panchayat and there should be complete prohibition. 

1700 people gave support, now voting will happen
Sarpanch Ayan Joshi said that there are 2,800 voters in the gram panchayat, out of which about 1,700 people have signed the memorandum. It has been handed over to the collector. Now the collector will set up a committee and verify the signature. The date of voting will be fixed after verification. If 51% voters vote in favor of liquor ban, then liquor ban will happen. Let us tell you that this trend of liquor ban was first started in Rajasthan from Rajsamand district only. Here in Kachabali Panchayat liquor was banned for the first time through voting. After this, the liquor went ahead and alcohol was banned in five panchayats.
