Chief Justice of Telangana High Court stresses on the need to protect the environment, cleanliness

Hyderabad, Nov 22 (PTI) Telangana High Court Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma stressed the need for cleanliness and protecting the environment in the city.

Justice Sharma said at a function here on Sunday that he was surprised to learn that the reservoir flowing near the Telangana High Court was not a drain but the Musi river.

Justice Sharma said, “When I was coming to the High Court, I asked why the High Court has a drain… I used these words. (After this) I was told that no sir, this is not a drain… it is the Musi river. I was stunned.”

He said, “Therefore, I request with folded hands that please make your city clean and take all possible steps necessary to protect the environment.”

Justice Sharma said that when he was coming to Hyderabad, he was told that there is a very beautiful lake (historic) Hussain Sagar in Hyderabad.

He said, “When I went to see Hussain Sagar, trust me, I could not stay there even for five minutes. We have made this condition of our environment.

Justice Sharma was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court on October 11.
