Greater Noida News: Greater Noida Authority resumes cleanliness ranking competition for residential societies

Greater Noida News: Continuing the cleanliness drive of Greater Noida, the authority has announced to resume the cleanliness ranking competition for bulk waste generators (residential societies). The residential societies occupying the first position in the competition will also get a prize of Rs 2 lakh, while the second and third place societies will be awarded Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 1 lakh. Actually, Solid Waste Waste Management Rules 2016 is applicable in Greater Noida. Under this, the bulk waste generators have to dispose of the garbage on their own. The authority only picks up the unrecycled inert waste.

Most societies come under the category of bulk waste generators. To give a further boost to this campaign, on the instructions of CEO Narendra Bhushan, the Greater Noida Authority organizes a cleanliness ranking competition for bulk waste generators. Last year, about 50 societies took part in this competition. The CEO of the authority has decided to conduct cleanliness ranking competition this year also. The Public Health Department of the authority has sought applications from all the residential societies (builder societies and co-operative societies) generating bulk waste. These societies can apply online from Thursday by visiting the website of Greater Noida Authority. The last date to apply is 10th December.
