Ghaziabad News: In the case of rape and murder of a 9-year-old girl on August 18 last year in the Modinagar police station area of Ghaziabad, the POCSO court convicted Kapil to death. He has been sentenced to be hanged till his death. The court has convicted Kapil under sections 363, 376 AB, 323 and Section 5/6 of the POCSO Act. A total of 14 witnesses were presented in the court during the hearing in this case. Kapil, accused in the case, has been sentenced to death by the court on March 15. While pronouncing the sentence, Special Judge (Poxo Court) Amit Kumar Prajapati said ‘the convict should be hanged till death’.
Two girls were kidnapped on the night of 18 August 2022 in Modinagar. Kapil Kashyap, a resident of the same village, took both the girls with him on a bicycle on the pretext of feeding them ice cream. In which one child was 9 years old while the other was 6 years old. After which he took both the girls to the sugarcane field where the six-year-old girl somehow managed to escape, after which Kapil raped the nine-year-old girl and strangled her to death.
The court sentenced him to death
During the hearing on this matter, 14 witnesses were presented in the court. On the basis of witnesses and evidence, the court convicted the accused Kapil on Monday. On Wednesday, there was a hearing in the court regarding the punishment of the convict. During the hearing, special public prosecutor Sanjeev Barkhawa made a strong plea and urged the court to punish the culprit severely. After hearing both the sides, the court sentenced the convict to death. Whereas it has been advocated by the prosecution.
The girl’s father has expressed satisfaction over this decision of the court. He said that today our girl has got justice. The way this act was carried out, we thank the police, the judiciary.
DCP Rural Ravi Kumar said that the Modinagar police has done a very strong lobbying in this matter. At the same time, the charge sheet was filed as soon as possible, it was presented in the court and today in August 2022, the culprit of the 9-year-old innocent girl who was brutally murdered, has been brought to her end.
