Delhi Budget 2023: After the 24-hour long political drama between the Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party in the national capital Delhi, the way has been cleared for the presentation of the budget in the assembly today i.e. on March 22. Is. Finance Minister Kailash Gehlot will present Delhi’s budget in the Vidhan Sabha at 11 am on Wednesday. Delhi’s budget was to be presented on March 21 as per the earlier plan, but due to the ban by the Union Home Ministry, it was not possible to put it on the assembly table on Tuesday. Due to the objections raised by the Home Ministry and the LG, the budget was stopped at the last moment. On Tuesday, after receiving a reply to objections and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal writing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the MHA gave its nod to present the Delhi budget. Earlier, participating in the discussion on this issue in the Delhi Assembly on Tuesday evening, CM Arvind Kejriwal termed the suspension of the budget as an attack on the Constitution and democracy.
He alleged, ‘‘He (Chief Secretary) sat suppressing it for three days. This is a bigger step than any anti-national activity. This should be investigated. The Center is behind this conspiracy and at its behest the budget is being delayed.’’ The senior AAP leader said that the budget is a sacred document and a secret exercise. He asked, ‘‘any ‘Babu’ sitting in the center? How can (Delhi) question the expenditure of the government.’’
