Aurangabad: Police tried to control the situation after a clash between two groups near a Ram temple ahead of Ram Navami in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad city. A crowd of about 500 angry people pelted stones and threw petrol bottles. At least 12 people including 10 policemen were injured in this. Aurangabad is now called Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.

To control the unruly crowd, the police fired tear gas shells and plastic bullets and also did some live firing. Eight police teams have been formed to identify and arrest the miscreants. This incident started when there was a clash between two groups of 5-5 people near the temple. After this, a group of youth left from there. Aurangabad Police Commissioner Nikhil Gupta told that after some time the police team reached there. An hour later, a crowd of miscreants gathered there carrying stones and petrol bottles and attacked the police.
