The by-election campaign for the Nellore district Atmakur assembly seat ended on Tuesday evening with the sudden death of the late Andhra Pradesh Minister Mekapati Gautam Reddy. To this end, Harendriya Prasad, Returning Officer, Andhra Engineering College, oversaw the distribution arrangements of EVMs. More than 1,300 staff will be involved in election duties. 279 polling booths will be set up by the authorities. It is learned that AP Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena has already warned that action will be taken against the parties violating the rules as per the election rules.
