The southwest monsoon brings rains to many parts of Andhra Pradesh. The surface basin extends from Vidarbha to southern Tamil Nadu and extends from southern Chhattisgarh to southern coastal Andhra Pradesh at an average elevation of 0.9 km above sea level. In this context, it is likely to rain in Andhra Pradesh for the next three days, Meteorological Department officials said. Thunderstorms are likely in several districts of Andhra Pradesh, AP Disaster Management Authority officials said. Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, Anakapalli, Alluri Sitaramaraj and Parvathipuram districts have been issued thunder warnings. Ichapuram, Kavithi, Sompeta, Kanchili, Palasa, Mandasa, Vajrapukottur, Nandigam, Tekkali, Saravakota, Meliaputti, Patapatnam, Kothuru, Hiramandalam, Laxminarasupeta, Ganguvari Sigadam areas in Srikakulam district, Sringavarapukota, Vijayanagaram, Vijayanagaram, Vijayanagaram, Mentada, Ramabhadrapuram, Dattirajeru, Santakaviti, Rajam, Merakamudidam, Bobbili, Wangara, Therlam, Regadi areas, Chidikada in Anakapalli district, K. Kottapadu, Devarapalli, Alluri in Sitaramaraj district Dumbriguda, Araku Valley, Ananthagiri Parvatipuram in Ananthagiri Authorities warned of a possible thunderstorm in the surrounding areas.
Officials advised farm workers, farm laborers and herdsmen not to stay under trees or in public places. They were immediately asked to seek shelter in safe buildings.
