World Cup 2023: Is Umran Malik not a part of the World Cup plan? Know the answer of BCCI

World Cup 2023, Umran Malik: Indian star fast bowler Umran Malik is constantly making headlines with his speed. In the last few matches of Team India, Umran was included in the playing eleven of the team. There are speculations about Umran that he will be a part of the Indian team in the ODI World Cup to be played this year. But BCCI is thinking something else about him. The BCCI hinted about Umran saying that he might not be a part of the ODI World Cup plans.

Clear signal from BCCI

Recently on last Sunday (March 26) the list of annual contracts of Indian players was released by the BCCI. A total of 26 players were included in different grades of this list, but Umran Malik’s name was not there. Many new players have been added to the contract. Young players like Deepak Hooda, Ishaan Kishan, Kuldeep Yadav, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh and KS Bharat were included in this list of new players.

In such a situation, by not including Umran Malik in the contract, it can be speculated that BCCI will not make Umran Malik a part of the ODI World Cup to be played this year. This time the World Cup will be played in India only and the pitches here are more favorable for spin bowling. In such a situation, the team will not need more fast bowlers. However, it is not yet officially clear whether Umran Malik will be a part of Team India in the World Cup or not.

Umran’s international career so far

Umran Malik, who made his debut in June 2022, has played a total of 8 ODIs and 8 T20 International matches in his international career so far. In ODIs, Umran has taken 13 wickets at an average of 27.30 and while bowling in T20 Internationals, he has taken 11 wickets at an average of 22.09, in which he has spent runs with an economy of 10.48.
