Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) has been troubled by a knee injury for some time now. Recently, while taking batting practice at Chennai’s Chepauk Stadium, the injury turned around again. With that, Dhoni appeared to be away from the first match of IPL 2023 (IPL 2023) against Gujarat Titans on Friday night. But…Dhoni who played in this match came to bat at the end and scored 14 unbeaten runs in 7 balls with the help of 1×4 and 1×6. After that he also kept wicket.

But at the end of this match, Dhoni was injured. In the 19th over of the innings, Deepak Chahar tried to bowl the second ball in the form of a yorker. But.. the ball fell on the leg stump line and hit Gujarat Titans batsman Rahul Tewatia’s fad and went to the boundary. Keeper Dhoni dived full length to stop the ball but to no avail. But…Dhoni got injured while doing this dive.

Dhoni got up after the dive and was seen struggling with knee pain. As he could not even take a step, Chennai Super Kings physio had to come to the ground and give him treatment. However.. Dhoni recovered within minutes and continued to keep again. But… it didn’t seem that comfortable. Gujarat defeated Chennai by 5 wickets in this match.

Chennai Super Kings will play their next match against Lucknow Super Giants on Monday. While this match is going to be held at the Chepak Stadium in Chennai, there is doubt about Dhoni’s playing due to injury. However, Chennai coach Fleming gave clarity on Dhoni’s playing. Dhoni’s knee was not injured in the match. It’s just a cramp. At this age, Dhoni knows very well what his range is. But he is a great leader. Not only in batting but also in fielding, Dhoni is a valuable player for the Chennai team,” said Pleming.
