Pune: Royal Challengers Bangalore clashed with Chennai Super Kings (RCB vs CSK) in the 49th match of IPL 2022. Chennai captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni) won the toss and decided to bowl. Ravindra Jadeja was the captain of the team in the beginning of the league, but after poor performance, Dhoni once again took the responsibility himself. However, even after stepping down from the captaincy, Ravindra Jadeja could not show any great feat with the ball. He did not get success in the third consecutive match.
Along with this, he once again dropped the catch in the fielding. The catch was difficult but Jadeja is counted among the best fielders in the world. The ball came in his hand and went out. On the third ball of the 17th over, Mahipal Lamor tried to hit a big shot but the ball went into the air. Ravindra Jadeja came running for a catch at deep cover but the ball did not come in his hands. But after falling, he lost his balance and got hurt.
He had fallen hard on his left shoulder. He also had a head injury and because of this the team’s physio had to come on the field. Jadeja sat on the ground holding his head for a long time. However, then he stood up for fielding and also came to bat. The last few times have not been good for the Indian team’s leading all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. After becoming the captain, his form went away and the team also could not show any special game. Because of which he was removed from the captaincy.
After skipper Faf du Plessis (38) and Virat Kohli (30) shared a 62-run opening stand for Bangalore, Mahipal Lomror’s aggressive 27-ball 42 took Bangalore to a challenging 173 for eight. Lomror hit three fours and two sixes in his innings. Dinesh Karthik scored an unbeaten 26 off 17 balls with the help of one four and two sixes. Chennai’s team could only score 160 runs and lost by 13 runs.
