Traumatic accident with basketball player in Moga, Punjab, thrown from the roof of the stadium for protesting the rape

Chandigarh: In Punjab’s Moga district, an 18-year-old basketball player was allegedly raped by three youths and pushed from the terrace of the stadium, causing ‘fractures’ in several parts of the girl’s body. Police said on Thursday that the player has been admitted to a private hospital in Ludhiana. Injuries to both his legs and jaw are being treated there. He said the incident took place on August 12 and since then all the three accused are absconding.

According to the complaint lodged by the victim’s father, his daughter had gone to a stadium in Moga to practice. An accused named Jatin Kanda tried to rape the player in the stadium.
