Avesh gave his career best performance in the fourth match, taking four wickets for 18 runs.
Talking to the media on Friday, he said, “There has been no change in the team for the last four matches, for which the credit goes to Rahul sir. He gives a chance to everyone and gives a long chance.
“He doesn’t drop anyone after one or two poor performances because a player cannot be judged on the basis of one or two matches. Everyone is getting a lot of opportunities to prove themselves.
Avesh said, “Yes, there was pressure on me. I didn’t get wickets in three matches but Rahul sir and team management gave me another chance and I took four wickets. It was also my father’s birthday, so this was a gift to him from my side.
The Indore fast bowler said that after talking to opener Ishan Kishan, he worked out a bowling strategy.
He said, “I spoke to Ishaan and he said that the hard length ball was not being played. Some balls are getting bounce and some are staying low. I strategized to attack the stumps and bowled hard length balls consistently. My job is to bowl well, getting wickets is not in my hands.
Regarding the possibility of making a place in the T20 World Cup squad, he said, “The selection is not in my hands. I want to give my 100 per cent in every match. I don’t want to regret later that I slackened in performance.
