Sri Lanka is going through a terrible phase of financial crisis these days. The common life in the country is facing shortage for everything. Be it ration or petrol or electricity. The citizens here have to struggle a lot even for basic needs. Meanwhile, Australia Cricket is on a tour of Sri Lanka for a series of three T20s, five ODIs and two Test matches. The last ODI match of the series is being played at R Premadasa Stadium Colombo today.
During this, Australian players have also had to suffer due to the ongoing turmoil in Sri Lanka. Actually, Australian Test team captain Pat Cummins made a tweet before the fifth ODI. In this tweet, he shared a photo, in which he is sitting with other players of the team having food in a restaurant, but in the meantime the electricity went out there.
On this, Cummins tweeted and wrote, ‘We are sitting in a restaurant and waiting for the electricity to come on. As soon as the electricity comes, then we will start our dinner. Sri Lanka is going through a very difficult phase at this time but the people here are excellent. We have enjoyed coming here.
On the other hand, if we talk about the ODI series, so far a total of four matches have been played. Australia won the first match of the series, but after that, hosts Sri Lanka have taken an unassailable lead by winning three consecutive ODIs. At the same time, Australia had won 2-1 in the T20 series played earlier.
After the T20 and ODI series, a Test series will be played between Sri Lanka and Australia, which will start from June 29.
