SRH vs MI, Match Highlights: Mumbai ‘green’ signal for playoffs, Hyderabad defeated by eight wickets

IPL 2023, SRH vs MI: Cameron Green’s blistering century and skipper Rohit Sharma’s half-century helped Mumbai beat Hyderabad by eight wickets. Mumbai easily passed the challenge of 201 runs given by Hyderabad with 12 balls and 8 wickets to spare. Due to this victory, Mumbai has 16 points.. Mumbai has jumped to the fourth position in the points table. Mumbai Indians have progressed towards the playoffs. Now after the match between RCB and Gujarat, the playoff math will be clear. 

Will Mumbai reach the playoffs?
 
Mumbai has progressed towards the playoffs by defeating Hyderabad. Mumbai’s playoff calculations depend on the match between RCB and Gujarat. Bangalore is currently experiencing rain with gale force winds. So the coin toss will be delayed. If this match is canceled due to rain, Mumbai will reach the playoffs.  For Mumbai to reach the playoffs, Gujarat will have to win the match..or rain will have to attend. 

Cameroon’s Storm – 

Chasing 201 runs, Mumbai got off to a very disappointing start. Opening batsman Ishan Kishan was dismissed for just 14 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar ended Ishan’s innings. Captain Rohit Sharma and Cameron Green batted stormily. This pair took notice of the Hyderabad bowlers.  The two shared 128 runs for the second wicket. Rohit Sharma scored 56 runs in 37 balls. Rohit Sharma hit eight fours and one six in this innings. After the captain’s dismissal, Cameron Green took over the innings. Cameron Green will report on the Hyderabad bowlers. Green scored a century off 47 balls. He hit eight sixes and eight fours in this innings.  Cameron Green scored an unbeaten 100. Suryukmar Yadav scored an unbeaten 25 runs. He hit four fours in this innings. 

 

Hyderabad could reach 200 runs for five wickets in the allotted 20 overs on the strength of Vivarant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal’s storming half-centuries. Vivrant Sharma scored 69 and Mayank Agarwal scored 83 runs. Akash Madhwal took four wickets from Mumbai.  

Hyderabad got off to a stormy start after losing the toss and batting first. Mayank Agarwal and Vivrant Sharma gave Hyderabad a strong start. Mumbai’s bowling looked weak and weak against Hyderabad’s opening pair. This pair opened with 140 runs. Vivrant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal had rained fours and sixes. They both added 53 runs in the powerplay. Vivrant and Mayank put on 140 runs in 83 balls for the first wicket. This is the best opening partnership from Hyderabad this season.. Hyderabad used 9 different opening pairs in 14 matches of this season.

Vivarant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal were aggressive from the first ball. Both took the news of each bowler of Mumbai. Be it Behrendroff or Akash Madhwal, everyone took notice. Vivrant Sharma scored 69 runs off 47 balls. Vivarant Sharma hit two sixes and 9 fours in this innings. Vivrant Sharma rained runs at a strike rate of 147.  Mayank Agarwal contributed 83 runs off 46 balls. Agarwal hit four sixes and eight fours in this innings. Agarwal rained runs at a strike rate of 181. Agarwal shared a 17-ball partnership of 34. 

Hyderabad’s batting faltered after the opening pair returned to the tent. Hyderabad batsmen threw wickets as before. Klaasen contributed 18 runs off 13 balls. Glenn Phillips is out for one run. Harry Brooke could not even open an account. Hyderabad threw wickets one after the other.. so could not build a big score. Hyderabad batsmen could not hit fours or sixes in the last over. Hyderabad batsmen prostrated themselves before Akash Madhwal’s penetrating bowling. Markram scored an unbeaten 13 off seven balls.

Akash Madhwal’s Penetrating Knock – 

Young Akash Madhwal scored a penetrative knock for Mumbai. Akash took 4 wickets in 4 overs. This includes both opening batsmen. Apart from that, both explosive opening batsmen Henrik Klaasen and Harry Brook are included. Chris Jordan got a wicket. With the exception of these two bowlers, none of the bowlers got a wicket.
