Sachin Statue: Indian legend, master blaster Sachin Tendulkar will get another honor. A statue of Sachin Tendulkar will be erected at the famous Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Tendulkar played the last match of his career at this ground. The statue will be installed on the occasion of Sachin’s 50th birthday. Stadium officials said that the statue will be unveiled on April 23 but during the ODI World Cup later this year. |
‘Everyone knows what Sachin Tendulkar has done for Indian cricket. He is Bharat Ratna. Sachin will enter 50 this April. So we are going to give him a small gift from MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association). We discussed this with Sachin. His permission was granted. This will be the first statue to be placed at the Wankhede Stadium, we will decide where to place it,’ said MCA President Amol Kale.

Sachin Tendulkar played 200 Test matches and 463 ODIs in his career. He represented the country in one T20 match. He scored 34,357 runs in his international career. Sachin is the top cricketer in the world in terms of runs. At least none of his poor ones. He also scored a hundred centuries in cricket. There is already a stand in the Wankhede Stadium with Sachin’s name on it. “This is a wonderful gift. My career started here. It was a journey full of incredible memories. It was in this stadium that we won the 2011 ODI World Cup, the best moment of my career.’ said Sachin.
