Team India captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat in the third T20I against New Zealand at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday. Rohit Sharma also made two changes in the final squad. Opener KL Rahul rested senior off-spinner Ashwin and replaced Ishant Kishan and Yuzvender Chahal in the squad.

The New Zealand team, on the other hand, will be led by new captain Mitchell Shantner. Tim Southee, who captained the team for the first two T20s, was ruled out of the match. Team India have already won the three-T20 series 2-0. As captain, Rohit Sharma won the toss in all three matches in a row. He was surprised to announce that he was batting first in this match.
