Rohit Sharma: Captain Rohit Sharma is the reason behind India’s defeat in Visakhapatnam ODI
Captain Rohit Sharma revealed the reason behind India’s defeat in the second ODI against Australia at Visakhapatnam on Sunday. Batting first in the match, Team India was bowled out for 117 runs in 26 overs. After that, Australia achieved the target in 11 overs without losing a wicket. With that, the three ODI series was tied at 1-1. The last ODI will be held in Chepauk on Wednesday.

Commenting on India’s defeat in the Vizag ODI, Captain Rohit Sharma said, “Enough score is on the board in the match
Couldn’t keep it. Consecutive wickets are the main reason for that. After the wicket of Subhaman Gill in the first over, Kohli and I scored 30-35 runs quickly. But.. even though I took a wicket after that.. immediately we lost back to back wickets. The team took a step back and could not recover. “This is not a pitch that can only score 117 runs.. but we couldn’t score enough,” he said.

The Vizag pitch seemed to be adapting to the batting. But.. the extra bounce hurt Team India. Aussie left-arm fast bowler Mitchell Starc took 5 wickets in the match while swinging the ball. Australian openers Mitchell Marsh (66 not out: 36 balls 6×4, 6×6) and Travis Head (51 not out: 30 balls 10×4) played brilliant shots on the same pitch where the Indian batsmen struggled.
