Ranji Trophy 2022 Final: Prithvi Shaw told when big shots would come out of his bat, said this about captaincy

Prithvi Shaw Ranji Trophy 2022 Final Madhya Pradesh vs Mumbai: The final match of Ranji Trophy 2021-22 will be played between Madhya Pradesh and Mumbai from June 22. Before this match, Mumbai captain Prithvi Shaw reacted about his cricket career. He said that like life, there are ups and downs in cricket too. Prithvi believes that it depends on the time how his performance will be. He also talked about the selection in Team India.

Mumbai captain Prithvi said, ‘‘I have scored a few (three) half-centuries but definitely it is not enough for me and even after scoring half century no one congratulated me and you feel bad too (said in a funny tone).’’ He said, ‘‘It happens sometimes but I am happy that my team is doing well. As a captain, I have to think about all the 21 players who have come here with me and not just myself. ’’

He said, ‘‘For me it is not the result that matters but the effort of everyone matters.  I have only told him that do what you have been doing for so many years. ’’

Prithvi and Mumbai’s current campaigner Armaan Jaffer and this season’s top scorer Sarfaraz Khan have one thing in common and that is that all three are from the same school ‘Rizvi Springfields’. Has been a student of K.K. which is known for its strong cricket team.  Rizvi Springfield’s team has dominated the prestigious Mumbai school tournament Harris and Giles Shield. Prithvi said,‘‘I, Sarfaraz and Armaan went to the same school when they were nine to 10 years old.  We played together and till now all three of us have done a good job for Mumbai cricket. ’’

Prithvi is playing in the Ranji Trophy final for the second time (first against Gujarat in 2017) while Armaan and Sarfaraz will be part of the title match for the first time. When Prithvi first came to Mumbai team, Chandrakant Pandit was the coach of the team And now when he leads the 41-time champions Mumbai in the final, this legendary coach will be with the opposing team.  The Mumbai captain said, ‘‘I think I will be able to make eye contact with Chandu sir (Coach Pandit) after five years.  This was not the case in 2016 or 2017.  Everyone knows that Chandu sir is a tough person and it would be nice to meet him again after a long time. ’’
