Djokovic shines at Italian Open

Earlier, world number one Novak Djokovic defeated Stan Wawrinka 6-2, 6-2. Wawrinka was playing his second tournament after two operations on his left leg. At the Italian Open, five-time champion Djokovic will next face Felix Auger Aliassim, who defeated American qualifier Marcos Girone 6-3, 6-2. In the women’s section, top-ranked Inga Sviatake made it to the quarter-finals with a 6-4 6-1 win over Victoria Azarenka. Sviatec will next take on 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andriscu, who defeated Croatian qualifier Petra Martic 6-4, 6-4.

Sinner made it to the quarter-finals

In the men’s section, Italy’s 20-year-old Yannick Sinner defeated Filip Krajinovic 6-2 7-6 (6) to reach the quarter-finals where he will face Stefanos Tsitsipas. Tsitsipas defeated Karen Khachanov 4-6, 6-0, 6-3.
