Aakash Chopra feels that if Pakistan team beats New Zealand in the match to be held on Tuesday (October 26), it will benefit the Indian team. Pakistan defeated India by 10 wickets in their first match of the T20 World Cup 2021. After this he has a match against New Zealand today.
The next match of the Indian team is against New Zealand on Sunday, 31 October. Before that, the eyes of the team will also be on the matches of other teams in the group.
The former opener of Team India said that if Babar Azam’s captaincy beats New Zealand, then it will benefit the Indian team.
Chopra said, ‘I think it will help India if Pakistan beats New Zealand. But if the opposite happens, that is, New Zealand defeats Pakistan, then the match can be a triangular match. And if the Indian team beats New Zealand and the rest of the teams win all their other matches, then the net run rate can come into play.
Cricketer-turned-commentator Chopra further said that if Pakistan beats New Zealand, then it will be almost certain to reach the semi-finals.
“If Pakistan beat New Zealand, then they will face Afghanistan and the two teams from the qualifiers – Scotland and Namibia. Then the path to the semi-finals will be easy for Pakistan.
Aakash Chopra also said that the Pakistan team would like to take revenge on New Zealand as they had recently canceled their tour against Pakistan at the last minute.
“It will be a bit big match for Pakistan because Pakistan must have felt humiliated when New Zealand canceled their tour against Pakistan at the last minute and went back without giving any reason,” he said. So I think Pakistan will also have a passion for it.’
The 44-year-old Chopra said that Pakistan’s team now looks balanced in both bowling and batting. He said, ‘Pakistan team is in good form. He is playing well. The top three batsmen are playing equally well and conditions like these will be beneficial for Hafeez and Malik as well. He is bowling well. The team looks very strong.
