According to a statement issued here, Pakistan High Commission in-charge Aftab Hasan Khan warmly welcomed the hockey team.
The team members were received at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by a senior diplomat of the High Commission, according to the statement.
The Pakistan hockey team’s visit to India comes days after New Delhi decided to reopen the Kartarpur Sahib corridor.
“The Pakistan High Commission in-charge Aftab Hasan Khan warmly welcomed the Pakistan junior hockey team that arrived in India to participate in the Junior Hockey World Cup,” the Pakistan High Commission said.
The High Commission in-charge hosted a lunch in honor of the hockey team and extended best wishes to the team. Describing hockey as the national sport of Pakistan, he expressed hope that the players will perform to the best of their ability.
“The head coach, team management members and players appreciated the hospitality of the Pakistan High Commission before leaving for Bhubaneswar from here,” the High Commission said. They are fully prepared to give their best during the matches.
