Napoli’s first defeat, Inter Milan revive title hopes

Milan, Nov 22 (AP) Inter Milan revived their hopes of winning the Italian Football League’s Serie A title by savoring their first loss of the season to top-ranked Napoli.

Defending champions Inter won the match 3-2. This leaves a gap of only four points between Inter and Napoli after the 13th round. AC Milan also have the same 32 points as Napoli but are second in goal difference. Inter have moved up to third place with 28 points from this win.

Napoli took the lead on a goal from Piotre Zelensky in the 17th minute but Haken Chalhonulu scored a penalty in the 25th minute to level Inter.

Ivan Perisic then scored in the 44th minute and Lautaro Martínez scored in the 61st minute to put Inter 3-1 ahead. Dries Mertens scored the second goal for Napoli in the 78th minute. This is his 137th goal for Napoli, which is a club record. However, he missed the equalizer in injury time.

In another match, two goals from 18-year-old Felix Afena Gyan helped Roma beat Genoa 2-0.
