Earlier, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad gave Chennai a great start once again. Both made a partnership of 110 runs for the first wicket. In the last three matches, the pair have made two centuries and one half-century partnership. However, Conway missed out on scoring a century. After playing an innings of 87 runs off 49 balls, he was dismissed by Khaleel Ahmed. After his dismissal, Shivam Dubey (32) also returned to the pavilion in the very next over.
After this it seemed that the team of Chennai would not be able to reach 200 runs. Wickets were falling continuously from one end. But Dhoni’s innings took the team to 208 runs. In the bowling for Delhi, Anrich Nortje took 3 and Khaleel Ahmed took two wickets. Nortje dismissed Moeen Ali and Robin Uthappa in the final over. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was in front of him on the last two balls, but by hitting accurate yorkers, he did not allow the batsman to play big short.
