LSG Vs DC: Lucknow thrash Warner’s army – 50-run win!

Lucknow Super Giants vs Delhi Capitals: Lucknow Super Giants won the IPL match against Delhi Capitals. Batting first, Lucknow scored 193 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Later, Delhi Capitals were limited to 143 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Kyle Meyers (73: 38 balls, two fours, seven sixes) was the top scorer for Lucknow Super Giants.

Delhi Capitals’ innings got off to a fast start with a huge target of 194 runs. David Warner (56: 48 balls, seven fours) exploded and scored 40 runs in the first four overs. After that Delhi’s troubles started. Opener Prithvi Shah (12: 9 balls, two fours) and Michelle Marsh (0: 1 ball), who came in one down, were out in consecutive balls. Sarfaraz Khan (4: 9 balls, one four) who came as a two-down batsman also failed and Delhi lost three wickets within eight runs.

David Warner, Riley Rousso (30: 20 balls, Three fours, one six) added 38 runs to shorten the innings. Riley Rousseau was out at this stage. David Warner put up a lone fight despite wickets falling on one side. Rowman Powell (1 off 3 balls) and Aman Hakeem Khan (4 off 5 balls) failed. After that David Warner was also out. This almost ended the struggle for Delhi. Akshar Patel (16: 11 balls, one four, one six) fought to no avail.

Losing the toss and going into bat, Lucknow Supergiants’ innings got off to a slow start. Captain and opener KL Rahul (8: 12 balls, one six) was out in the fourth over. At the end of the powerplay, Lucknow managed just 30 runs for the loss of a wicket.

Then Kyle Meyers (73: 38 balls, two fours, seven sixes) burst into flames. He hit the Delhi bowlers with sixes. With this, Lucknow scored runs. But at the other end, Deepak Hooda (19: 18 balls) struggled as long as he was at the crease. In the 11th over, Deepak Hooda got out after attempting a huge shot off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav. In the very next over, Akshar Patel bowled Kyle Meyers too.

This slowed the pace of the score. But Nicholas Pooran (36: off 21 balls, two fours, three sixes) and Ayush Badoni (18: off 7 balls, one four, two sixes) came into play at the end. With this, Lucknow Super Giants scored 193 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs.
