Batting first after winning the toss, Bangladesh had lost four wickets within 49 runs in the first 58 minutes but after that Liton (113 not out) and Mushfiqur (82 not out) batted carefully and the team continued for the next 69 overs of the day. Didn’t get any shock.
Playing his 26th Test match, Liton completed his maiden century. He has now faced 225 balls in his innings and has hit 11 fours and a six. Mushfiqur’s 190-ball innings included 10 fours.
Earlier, Bangladesh’s top-order batsmen failed to face Pakistan’s fast bowlers. Shaheen Afridi gave Pakistan the first breakthrough by dismissing Saif Hasan (14) in the fifth over, while Hasan Ali sent the second opener Shadman Islam (14) to the pavilion.
Captain Mominul Haque was caught behind the wicket by off-spinner Sajid Khan for only six runs, while Faheem Ashraf dismissed Najmul Hossain to reduce the score to 49 for four.
