KKR vs LSG: Where did Kolkata miss against Lucknow? Captain Shreyas Iyer replied

Shreyas Iyer on KKR Defeat: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) were face to face in the IPL on Saturday night. In this match, Lucknow defeated Kolkata by a huge margin of 75 runs. After this defeat, the chances of KKR’s playoffs have weakened. After the match, when captain Shreyas Iyer was asked the reason for the defeat, he pointed to the team’s weak performance in the powerplay and death overs. I dominated us. He bowled brilliantly in the powerplay. He started well in batting too. During Lucknow’s batting, we did come back in the middle overs but in the death overs he again took the match away from us. Powerplay and death overs are the areas where we need to improve. Hopefully in the next match, we will overcome these shortcomings.’

Shreyas Iyer further said, ‘It was not so easy to read the wicket. So we chose to bowl first. We found that the balls are coming to a halt and there are two types of pace on the pitch. 155-160 runs on this pitch is a lot, but Lucknow made it difficult for us by scoring more runs. In this match, Lucknow batted first and scored 176 runs thanks to the innings of Quinton de Kock (50), Deepak Hooda (41) and Marcus Stoinis (28). In response, Kolkata had a very poor start. Kolkata lost four wickets for 25 runs. Andre Russell, the only one from KKR, batted strong. He played a quick innings of 45 runs in 19 balls. Despite this innings of Russell, KKR were all out for 101 runs. KKR’s team is present at 8th position in IPL points table.
