Barcelona’s hopes of reaching the last 16 have suffered a setback after they played out a goalless draw with Benfica at their home ground, Camp Nou. He may now need to win over Bayern Munich to avoid a group stage exit for the first time in nearly two decades.
Bayern have won all their five matches in Group E so far and have already made it to the knockouts. Barcelona have seven points from five matches and are in second place. Benfica are in third place with five points.
If Benfica beat Dynamo Kiev in the final match and Barcelona are unable to register a win, then they will have a chance of reaching the knockouts. Portuguese club Benfica have not reached the knockouts since 2016-17.
“We can beat Bayern in Munich,” Jhavi said.
A win over Benfica would have helped Barcelona reach the knockouts for their 18th consecutive season, but they did not take advantage of their chances.
In another group match on Tuesday, Bayern beat Dynamo 2-1 to register their fifth consecutive win. Dynamo have only one point in five matches and are already out of the race for the knockouts.
