ITTF Rankings: Manika ranks career-best 38, Sathiyan at 34

New Delhi, May 3 (PTI) Star player Manika Batra has jumped 10 places in women’s singles to reach a career-best 38th position while G Sathiyan is ranked 34th in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rankings. Huh.

Experienced Achanta Sharath Kamal has also gained one place to reach 37th position. Most of the Indian players have benefited from the latest rankings.

Apart from Sharath and Sathiyan, no other Indian men’s player is included in the world’s top 100, while in women’s singles, Manika and three other players have found a place in this list.

Archana Kamat has jumped 26 places to reach 66th position. Young Sreeja Akula has also gained 39 places in the latest rankings and is now ranked number 68 in the world.

Rhett Tennyson has also made it to the top 100 players list for the first time. He has gained 197 places and is at 97th position.

In men’s doubles, Sathiyan and Harmeet Desai are ranked 28th in the world, while Sathiyan and Sharath are ranked 35th.

In women’s doubles, Manika and Archana are the world number four pair. The pair of Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee is at the 29th position.

In mixed doubles, Manika and Sathiyan are ranked sixth in the world rankings, while Manav Thakkar and Archana are ranked 22nd.
