IPL 2023: Kolkata punch Bengaluru at Eden.. KKR spinners turn the match

Royal Challengers Bangalore have struck the first punch of the IPL 2023 season. Kolkata Knight Riders won by 81 runs against Bengaluru in the match played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday night. Batting first in the match, the Kolkata team scored 204 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. After that, the Bengaluru team, which struggled in the opening, was bowled out for 123 runs in 17.4 overs.

Bangalore openers Virat Kohli (21: 3×4 in 18 balls) and Duplessis (23: 2×4 in 12 balls, 2×6) played aggressively in chasing 205 runs. But.. Kohli was dismissed by spinner Narine.. Shardul Thakur shared a sixth-wicket century partnership with Rinku Singh (46: 2×4, 3×6 off 33 balls) to give Mumbai a better score of 204 runs. Among the bowlers of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Willy and Karn Sharma took two wickets. Michael Braswell and Mohammad Siraj took one wicket each.
