Royal Challengers Bangalore have struck the first punch of the IPL 2023 season. Kolkata Knight Riders won by 81 runs against Bengaluru in the match played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday night. Batting first in the match, the Kolkata team scored 204 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. After that, the Bengaluru team, which struggled in the opening, was bowled out for 123 runs in 17.4 overs.

Among the bowlers of Royal Challengers Bangalore, Willy and Karn Sharma took two wickets. Michael Braswell and Mohammad Siraj took one wicket each.
