Chennai beat Delhi Capitals by 91 runs in the previous match and will be hoping to maintain the momentum. Opener Devon Conway has been in excellent form and has scored three consecutive half-centuries. He scored 87 against Delhi though opening partner Ruturaj Gaikwad would expect support from him. This season was like a nightmare for Ravindra Jadeja as well and he also left the captaincy midway. In the last match against Delhi, he was out due to injury. Now it remains to be seen whether he will be able to play against Mumbai?
Dhoni’s finishing touch
Chennai will have to score big for which all the batsmen will have to perform well. Last time in the match of both the teams, Dhoni had won by showing his ‘finishing style’. CSK bundled out Delhi for 117 runs. Moeen Ali took three wickets while young pacers Mukesh Chaudhary and Simranjit Singh also did well. All three will have to do well together while spinner Mahish Teekshana’s four overs can also change the course of the match. A lot will depend on Dwayne Bravo’s performance.
Rohit-Ishaan to be blamed
Rest of the matches for Mumbai are a formality and now they can openly show their game. However this is not happening. The batsmen of the team are still not able to play the responsible innings. In the last match against KKR, Bumrah took five wickets showing a strong game but the team could not win the batting if the batting was flop. Captain Rohit Sharma (200 runs), Ishan Kishan (321 runs) will be responsible for batting. Both the players could not open the account in the last match against Chennai. Now it has to be seen whether they can make up for it in this match or not.
