IND vs SL Women: India beat Sri Lanka in first ODI, first time Harmanpreet does amazing captaincy

IND vs SL Women: The Indian women’s cricket team is on a tour of Sri Lanka these days. The first match of the three-match ODI series between the two teams was played here today. Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, the hosts scored 171 runs for the loss of 10 wickets. In reply, India won the match by 4 wickets for 176 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 38 overs. This is India’s first win under Harmanpreet’s captaincy.

Renuka and Deepti took 3-3 wickets. . In the third over, Chamari Attapattu was dismissed for 2 off 8 balls. In the 7th over, Hansima Karunaratne returned to the pavilion without opening an account. This was followed by Hasini Perera (37), Harshita Madavi (28), Kavisha Dilhari (0), Nilakshi De Silva (43), Anushka Sanjeevani (18), Oshadi Ransinghe (8), Rashmi De Silva (7) and Inoka Ranveer (12). While Achini Kulsuria remained unbeaten. For India, Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma took 3-3, Pooja Vastrakar took 2 and Harmanpreet, Rajeshwari Gaikwad took 1-1.

Chasing the target of 172 runs, the North Indian team (India women) did not have a special start. Smriti Mandhana was dismissed for 4 in the second over. This was followed by Yastika Bhatia (1), Shefali Verma (35), Harmanpreet Kaur (44), Harleen Deol (34) and Richa Ghosh (6). Deepti Sharma (22) and Pooja Vastrakar (21) remained unbeaten. For Sri Lanka, Inoka Ranveer took 4 wickets and Ushadi Ransinghe took 2 wickets.
