IND vs SA 5th T20: Rain stopped India from creating history, only 3 and a half overs could play, series ended in draw

Bangalore: The fifth and deciding T20 International between India and South Africa being played here was called off due to rain in just 3.3 overs, as the two teams shared the series 2-2. South Africa won the first two matches after which India made a comeback to level the series, registering wins in the next two matches.

Rain came just before the start of the match and the start of the match was delayed by 50 minutes, reducing the match to 19 overs. In the fourth over of the Indian innings, rain once again disturbed and the match could not start again. For the second time, India had scored 28 runs for two wickets in 3.3 overs till the rain interrupted. Only 16 minutes of play could be played during the match.

Keshav Maharaj, who was leading the team in the absence of injured Temba Bavuma, won the toss and elected to bowl first and Ishan Kishan opened the account with two sixes in his very first over.
