IND vs NZ 1st ODI: Dhawan, Gill, Shreyas shine with half-centuries… Kiwis face huge target

IND vs NZ 1st ODI:   India scored a huge score of 306 runs in the first ODI against New Zealand at Auckland. Openers Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer shone with half centuries. Sanju Samson (36) excelled. India scored 306 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. 

Openers Bhala

Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill opened the innings for Team India who lost the toss and started batting first. Has contributed a century partnership (124). The pair, who played first on a pitch suitable for bowling, made a run on the scoreboard after getting into trouble. Especially Captain Dhawan played the shots powerfully. He completed his half century in this sequence. Dhawan, who increased the speed, reached the pavilion on the bowling of Southee at 77 runs. Gill also hit some spectacular shots. Gill scored a half-century in 64 balls and was dismissed in the very next ball. Later Shreyas played Achithudi. But Pant, who came to bat at number four, disappointed once again. Continuing his T20 failure, he returned to a low score. Ferguson misjudged the ball and was bowled by Pant (15). Then Suryakumar (4) who was in super form moved the first ball to the boundary. However, he was caught at slip on the third ball he faced and got out. This wicket also went to Ferguson.

Standing Shreyas, Sanju

Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson stood the Indian innings which lost 4 wickets for 160 runs. Achituchi led the score board while playing. Shreyas hit the boundaries after standing up a bit. Shreyas is running fast and Sanju Samson is giving him good support. He rotated the strike while taking singles. They both put on a valuable partnership of 94 runs for the fifth wicket. Sanju was dismissed at 36 runs. Later Shreyas also turned back.  Then Washington Sundar came to the crease and batted like T20. Team India reached the 300-run mark by scoring 37 runs in just 16 balls with sixes and fours. Shardul Thakur was dismissed in the last over. 

Locky Ferguson and Tim Southee among the Kiwis bowlers took thirty wickets. Adam Milne gets a wicket. Matt Henry bowled sparingly despite not taking a wicket.
