IND vs AUS, 1st ODI: Mitchell Starc made a big record by taking Virat’s wicket, became the fourth bowler to take the most wickets

IND vs AUS 2023: Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has now become the fourth highest international wicket-taker for Australia. Starc has created this new record by taking the wicket of Virat Kohli in the first ODI of the series being played in Mumbai against India.

The first match of the three-match ODI series between India and Australia is being played at the Wankhade Stadium in Mumbai. In this match, batting first, Australia scored only 188 runs in 35.4 overs, but to defend it, Australia started with excellent bowling. Mitchell Starc bowled dangerously in the fifth over of the match, sending Virat Kohli on the fifth ball and Suryakumar Yadav out LBW on the sixth ball. 

Virat Kohli’s record by taking wickets

The highest international wicket for Australia is late bowler Shane Warne. He took a total of 999 wickets in his career. After him, former right-arm fast bowler Glenn Magra is at number two. Magra took 948 international wickets for Australia in his career. At the same time, Brett Lee’s name comes at number three in this list. Brett Lee has taken 718 wickets in his career.  Mitchell Starc’s name comes after these three legendary former bowlers. Mitchell Starc has taken a total of 593 international wickets till the time of writing this news. After him, the name of another former Australia bowler Mitchell Johnson is present at number five.
