‘Hi re luck’, see Sri Lankan batsman Dhananjay de Silva hit-wicket

Sri Lankan batsman Dhananjaya de Silva got hit wicket in a very unfortunate manner in the test match against West Indies. He was a hit wicket during Sri Lanka’s first innings on Monday in the Test match being played in Galle.

Dhananjay de Silva (61), who came out to bat at number five, was batting in a good rhythm. He played a good innings on the first day of the match. De Silva was dismissed in the 95th over by Shannon Gabriel.

The ball was going towards the wickets after hitting Dhanjay’s bat. He tried to stop him with his bat. A batsman can do this according to the laws of cricket. However, the ball did not hit the bat in the first attempt. He tried again and it was here that his bat hit the wickets.

Dhananjay has been a hit wicket for the second time in Test cricket. Apart from Romesh Kaluvitarana, he became the second Sri Lankan batsman to have two hit wickets in Test cricket.

Talking about the match, by the end of the first day’s play, Sri Lanka had scored 267 runs for three wickets. However, on the second day, West Indies made a good comeback and by lunch, Sri Lanka had a score of 341 for six wickets.
