‘Harsha.. are you happy now?’ Shikhar Dhawan lashed out at the commentator!

In IPL 2023, Sunrisers Hyderabad hit the jackpot. Boni beat Punjab Kings by 8 wickets. Batting first, Punjab scored 143 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. With Hyderabad bowlers booming, Punjab lost 9 wickets for 88 runs in 15 overs. Everyone thought that Punjab would be bowled out within 100 runs. But Shikhar Dhawan was unleashed by number eleven batsman Mohit Rathi (1 not out in 2 balls). By counter-attacking the Sunrisers bowlers and taking smart singles at the end of the over, Punjab saved its honour.

Adding 55 runs to the last wicket of Dhawan Punyama, Punjab managed to set a respectable target in front of the opponent. By the time the 9th wicket fell, Dhawan changed gears after scoring 47 runs off 38 balls. Dhawan hit two consecutive sixes off the bowling of Natarajan to complete his half century. Dhawan hit one four and two sixes in the 18th over bowled by Umran Malik. Two fours in the 19th over bowled by Bhuvi reached 91 runs. In the last over, Natarajan bowled tightly. Dhawan took a double off the second ball and hit a six off the last ball to remain unbeaten with 99 runs off 66 balls. Although he narrowly missed the opportunity to score a century, almost 70 percent of the Punjab team’s score was scored by Dhawan. Dhawan became the player of the match even though Punjab lost.

While receiving the award, Shikhar Dhawan told commentator Harsha Bhogle that he did not think he would score 99 runs. Dhawan, who played according to the situation, asked Bhogle, ‘Are you happy about my strike rate? Because you tweeted something earlier’.

Bhogle responded to this.. I am very happy with your strike rate.’ But it (tweeted) is a different game, different conditions. Bhogle replied to Dhawan that it was a pleasure to talk.

It seems that Bhogle did not say what he tweeted about Shikhar Dhawan. Punjab will face Rajasthan on 5th April. Dhawan, who started batting slowly in that match, scored 86 runs in 56 balls. Bhogle questioned Shikhar Dhawan’s performance. At one end, Prabhusimran Singh scored 60 runs in 34 balls.. Bhogle faulted Dhawan for taking a run per ball in the first 30 balls. The strike rate may have been increased at the end.. but taking runs per ball will only hurt Punjab.. Is it necessary to play the anchor role in such situations..? Bhogle asked. As an answer to this, Dhawan played an innings that will be remembered for a long time in the match against Hyderabad.
