The first qualifier match of the 16th season of the Indian Premier League will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans today. Whichever team will be able to win in today’s match will get the ticket for the final to be played on 28th May. However, the losing team will also get another chance to make it to the finals. But both Dhoni and Pandya will be eyeing a win in today’s match to seal their place in the finals.
If we talk about Gujarat, then like last year, Hardik Pandya’s team has performed amazingly this time too. By defeating RCB, Gujarat Titans managed to top the points table with 20 points. Dhoni’s team, however, won only 8 matches and managed to make it to the qualifiers with 17 points.
For Gujarat, the pair of Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan has also shown a great game. Both these players have taken 24-24 wickets in this season. Apart from capturing the Purple Cap, his eyes will also be on breaking the back of CSK batsmen. Rashid Khan can prove to be the biggest game changer for Gujarat in Chepauk.
Chennai batsmen have also impressed with their game this season. The pair of Conway and Gaikwad is continuously giving good starts to Chennai. Apart from this, the form of Shivam Dubey and Rahane has proved to be a bonus for CSK. Although Moeen Ali has not been able to play a single amazing innings this season.
