Former Team India player expressed confidence in Rishabh Pant, said special thing about T20 World Cup

Rishabh Pant Team India: Indian batsmen Ishan Kishan and Dinesh Karthik impressed everyone with their brilliant game in India’s recent T20I series against South Africa.  At the same time, stand-in captain Rishabh Pant could only manage 58 runs in four innings at an average of 14.5 and strike rate of 105.45 and was dismissed in the same manner every time. In the year of the T20 World Cup being organized in Australia in October-November, head coach Rahul Dravid described Pant as an integral part of the team in the shortest format of the game. 

Whereas, with Delhi Capitals Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif, who has also served as an assistant coach, believes that Pant could be part of India’s squad for the T20 World Cup, but against England on July 7, 9 and 10 in Southampton, Birmingham and Nottingham. It will be important for him to return to form in the T20 series to be played in Mumbai. 

Kaif said on Monday, "Pant will be in the team, but the tour of England will be important for him.  Pant has to be in form at the earliest, because very important months like the World Cup are approaching and everyone wants to see Rishabh Pant perform at his best. "

In IPL 2022, Pant scored 340 runs at an average of 30.90 and strike rate of 151.78.  Kaif, who has played 125 ODIs and 13 Tests for India, admitted that Pant is not in good form, but he has been backed by the team management to get back into form.  Pant will now be seen in action during the Edgbaston Test from July 1 to 5. 

Kaif said, "He is still learning, as he is 24, so he has a long way to go, something like what Rahul Dravid said you want players with good skills, who can win matches for India.  Pant has done this for India, so he has got management support. "

India’s tour of England will be broadcast on Sony Sports Network from July 1 to 17.
