CSK: ‘Will the flag fly?’

Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad clashed in the 46th league match of the 15th season of the IPL. CSK won the toss and elected to bowl first.

CSK Innings:

Openers Rudraj Kejriwal and Devon Conway both played casually in the power play for the first fielding CSK team. Back then, Washington Sundar, who tried to block a four in the 3.4th over, was injured and did not return to the field. It was seen as a major setback for the Sunrisers as they were capable of taking wickets in the Power Play.

In Markaram, Malik overs:

The Sunrisers did not take a single wicket in the Power Play. 40 runs added. In the absence of Washington Sunder next, Aidan Markram became the 5th bowler. In his overs and in the overs of Umran Malik, Ruduraj continued to run, and was assisted by Conway Singh.

In the end Rudraj played with 95+ runs and was expected to score a century. In this situation, Rudraj was dismissed for 99 (57) off 17.5 balls thrown by Natarajan. Conway 85 (55) continued to play well. Dhoni did not score big 8 (7). In the end CSK scored 202/2 in 20 overs.

Sunrisers innings:

Openers Abhishek Sharma 39 (24) and Kane Williamson 47 (37) were the other big scorers for Sunrisers Hyderabad as they chased down the target. Next Rahul Tripathi 0 (1), Aidan Markram 17 (10) did not score big. In the end Nicholas Pooran struggled alone with 64 (33). However, it did not succeed. Sunrisers Hyderabad lost by 25 runs, adding only 189/6 in 20 overs.

Mukesh Chaudhary took 4/22 wickets.

If CSK wins the next 5 matches, the playoff chances will be bright.
